is a video of the song Listen
2 What U C from the Full Album - it has a
romantic story line featuring two actors, Rauf and Helen and contains
snatches of visual from Soft Touch's successful set at Rock the World 7.
Soft Touch Full Album
The Soft Touch full album
is now out (released November 28 2005) and
consists of the five songs already released on the Soft Touch EP: Listen 2 What U C, Happy Sad, Shelter, Wishful Thinking and Lately,
which have been re-mastered for better quality, and four partially live
tracks, Better World, Move on Down the Line, Love & Music and Crazy
Heart recorded live at Paul's Place during the launch of the EP
in
April 2005 with the vocals re-dubbed in the studio for the sake of
quality, and one unplugged track Mercy.
Apart from the live
tracks the entire album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Lemang
Studio. The five original EP songs were all composed
collectively
by the band, but bass player Shahril
originated Shelter and Lately,
while the others were originated by Markiza and Peter. Markiza
wrote the lyrics of Lately
(all the lyrics are now up on our site
www.lemang.com ). The cover was designed by Izzy and the CD label
by Zash. The

History: Soft Touch
was founded in 1999 as a project band and played
their first gig in Colours pub
in Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya.
The original band which consisted of I'joo on lead
guitar, Mokhtarizal on
drums, Azlan on bass, Markiza on keyboards and Peter Hassan Brown
on vocals, guitar and harmonica, broke up
after performing at the Qings & Kueens Web Launch at KL Jam Asia in
October 20th 2003. This was because both I'joo and Mokhtar left
owing to other commitments. It was not until March 2004
that replacements were found for these valuable guys.
Recording commenced in June 2004 for the five-song EP which was
released in April 2005. The full album was released in November

Kee the lead guitarist was also
guitarist, composer and singer with Samarkand, whose first
album was released in 2001, while drummer Alex Ang from East Malaysia
plays for Naked Breed, Velvet Tones, Indka and Cosmic Funk
Express. Bass player Shahril
E. Ismail has now left the band and
been replaced by Alda Tan.
Markiza and Peter Hassan have been
doing their own music for years, as well as the commercial scene for a
short time during the nineties. They have self-produced two
albums, OPEN SECRET
and LOVE & MUSIC
as the duo Passion and
Peter released his fourth solo album, Warm in 2001.
Soft Touch performs new songs composed for the
band, a few songs from Warm, and a souped-up version of the title track
from the second Passion album Love
& Music. to access all

The style of music is indie rock with a melodic and sometimes jazzy
feel, with a bit of grunge thrown in too. The rhythm
section is heavy and punchy with the songs light and breezy and
sometimes a bit folky. Some songs are about issues such as War,
Poverty and the yearning for a Better World. We try to be
compassionate in our compositions.

Paul's Place on April 23rd 2005 featured seven bands and individual
performers, including Jamie Woon from UK, feted band D-va, Cats in
Love, Lied, SaerZe and Lunarin from Singapore. Since then ST have
performed at Troubadours
Acoustic Club, La Bodega, (June 2005), KL and
on the Musiccanteen mobile
stage at the NAZA
World Showrooms Carnival
(July 2005), Arts For
All Carnival at Bukit Kiara Equestrian
Stadium (September 2005), AWESTRUCK!,
Saturday December 10th at
the KL Jam Asia at which the Soft Touch full album was officially
launched, and Music Canteen
